The city of Brentwood, MO, opened its 2.5-acre destination playground with a water play area in April 2024.

The park is part of a plan to mitigate flooding in the Deer Creek watershed.

The approximately $5 million park offers playground amenities unique to the St. Louis region. It includes:

  • The Family Fun Zone, with swings, hillside slides, balance play, spinners, and a climbing structure, many designed for inclusive play experiences. The area includes a picnic shelter.
  • The Adventure Play Area, with a net climber 22 feet above the playground, a large group catapult swing, side-by-side zip line, and natural log pile climber
  • The Overlook, featuring a trail to an ADA-accessible overlook with views of the lake and amphitheater
  • Water Play Explorer Creek, designed to mimic the Deer Creek watershed. Water will spray from the ground and walls, and seating ledges will resemble quarry shelves. The area will also house a pavilion. A water reclamation system will recycle an estimated 4 million gallons of water annually.

IMEG provided structural engineering services for the project.
