Claxton Elementary School in Greensboro, N.C., has earned an ENR Southeast 2025 Best Projects Award of Merit in the K-12 Education category. Designed by SfL+a Architects, the new 90,000-sf facility is part of Guilford County Schools’ larger initiative to modernize educational infrastructure and prioritize sustainability across the district.

IMEG provided commissioning services for the project, working in close collaboration with stakeholders and NOVA Engineering, who led building envelope commissioning. Our team ensured that all systems were fully functional, code-compliant, and optimized for performance and efficiency.

IMEG commissioned air handling and rooftop units, exhaust air systems, electric heaters, building automation, energy recovery, plumbing fixtures, water heaters, and air compressors. IMEG developed a comprehensive commissioning plan, performed site inspections, tracked issues, and led both pre-functional and functional performance testing to ensure quality outcomes.
