IMEG provided structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, technology, and security design, as well as medical equipment planning services, for the expanded and renovated Franciscan Beacon Hospital in LaPorte, IN, which opened in July 2020. 

The 92,500-sf facility is an acute care microhospital – a newer type of hospital design that offers the same services as a community hospital, but on a much smaller scale. The Franciscan Beacon Hospital offers 24/7 emergency services, eight inpatient beds for overnight care, and imaging services including X-ray, CT, ultrasound, MRI, mammography, echocardiography, and stress testing. Offices for family medicine, specialty physicians, physical therapy, and telehealth are also located in the facility.
