HSBC’s U.S. headquarters in New York has been awarded a CoreNet New York City Chapter Project of the Year Award in the 100,000-299,000-sf category.

The international banking corporation chose the Hudson Yards neighborhood for its U.S. headquarters, embracing a flexible workplace concept more akin to a boutique hospitality experience than an office.

IMEG created the lighting design, which includes the use of lighting fixtures as dramatic sculptural elements, and the use of Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for electrical distribution connecting lighting, HVAC, audio visual, and security systems.

The award honors compelling and transformative projects in the five boroughs and nearby New Jersey.

IMEG’s team included Senior Project Manager David Cyr, Senior Lighting Designer Suzie Lee, and Lighting Designers Lulu Wang and Karmen Ho.
