IMEG-designed engineering building at Rice University receives Lab Design Excellence Award
The Ralph S. O’Connor Engineering and Science Building at Rice University in Houston, Texas, received the 2024 Lab Design Excellence Award in the Whole Building/Holistic Design category.
The award honors achievements in research laboratory design, planning, and construction.
The project was featured in a recent issue of Lab Manager Magazine, which highlighted the building’s flexible, adaptable, and agile design, which promotes collaboration among researchers in advanced materials, quantum science and computing, urban research and innovation, and the energy transition.
IMEG provided structural engineering for the 250,000-sf, $99.5 million project as a subconsultant to SOM Architects.
