IMEG-designed mixed-use building wins Excellence in Masonry Architectural Award
The mixed-use 1020 W. Randolph project in Chicago’s West Loop has won a Best of Housing – Mixed Use award from the Masonry Advisory Council’s 2024 Excellence in Masonry Architectural Awards. IMEG provided structural engineering design for the new 27,000-sf retail and office building.
The new building replaced an existing bank that was demolished to make room for the project, and it features varying patterns and orientations of brick to reflect the details of the other historic buildings in the district. The building is conveniently located for public transportation and includes a secure bike room with 18 bike parking spaces, lockers, an air pump and repair station, and a changing area.
