IMEG has moved up among the Top 20 of ENR magazine’s list of the 2025 Top 100 Green Design Firms. IMEG is now ranked #17, up from #20 in 2024.

Companies are ranked according to revenue for construction or design services generated in the previous year from projects that have been registered with or certified by a third-party organization that sets standards for measuring a building’s or facility’s environmental impact, energy efficiency, or carbon footprint.

For IMEG, that amounted to 31 percent of the firm’s revenue in 2024. In addition, IMEG has more than 250 employees accredited in green certification systems.

“Our continuing rise among the Top 100 Green Firms is the result of our intentional and long-standing focus on sustainable building design,” said Adam McMillen, IMEG Director of Sustainability. “Earlier this year, we released our Whole Carbon Action Plan to better align sustainability goals with all engineering services. This strategy strengthens our mission to create positive outcomes for people, communities, and our planet.”

IMEG actively pursues measures to reduce the operational and embodied carbon of its projects and has committed to industry-wide decarbonization initiatives including SE 2050, the AIA 2030 Commitment, and the National Academy of Medicine Action Collaborative on Decarbonizing the U.S. Health Sector. The firm is also a founding member of the Carbon Leadership Forum’s MEP 2040 Challenge.
