IMEG has acquired Rodriguez Transportation Group (RTG), a Texas-based transportation engineering and planning firm recognized for its expertise in transportation planning, roadway and highway design, traffic engineering, drainage design, and land surveying.

The acquisition marks a significant expansion of IMEG’s infrastructure capabilities in Texas, adding transportation depth to the firm’s existing MEP, civil, structural, and subsurface utility engineering services. Together, the combined expertise strengthens IMEG’s ability to deliver comprehensive, full-service solutions to clients across the region.

Founded in 1996, RTG was established with a mission to help communities move safely and efficiently. The firm is guided by a philosophy centered on delivering exceptional work, building strong relationships, and providing innovative, practical, and cost-effective transportation solutions. RTG offers high-quality planning, design, and construction-phase services for projects of varying size and complexity throughout Texas.

Together, IMEG and RTG bring extensive technical expertise and a shared commitment to delivering innovative infrastructure solutions across Texas. The acquisition strengthens IMEG’s ability to support transportation agencies, government entities, and regional mobility and toll authorities with comprehensive planning, engineering, and design services, while expanding the firm’s transportation and infrastructure presence throughout Texas and the broader southern region.

“We are excited to welcome RTG to IMEG and strengthen our infrastructure capabilities in Texas,” said Paul VanDuyne. “RTG brings specialized expertise, strong public sector relationships, and a proven portfolio that will enhance our ability to serve clients across the state. This partnership positions IMEG for continued growth in Texas and reinforces our commitment to transportation and infrastructure development throughout the U.S. and southern region.”

“Joining IMEG creates exciting opportunities for continued growth while allowing us to maintain the culture and client-focused approach that have defined RTG for decades,” said Chris Tomescu, RTG President. “This partnership strengthens our ability to serve clients through expanded resources and additional service offerings, and benefiting from the national expertise and support IMEG provides.”

Tomescu will remain in a leadership role at IMEG, supporting the firm’s integration and continued growth. Steve Davidson, formerly Vice President and CFO of RTG, will serve as Client Executive at IMEG, ensuring continuity for both clients and staff. The team will continue to operate from its existing locations now in market as “RTG, now IMEG.”
