IMEG helps engineer the brighter, bolder Times Square New Year’s Eve ball
The iconic Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball has received a dazzling upgrade—and IMEG played a part.
This year’s ball features nearly twice the number of lights, three sizes of Waterford crystal panels, and a more powerful motor to guide its famous descent.
IMEG provided lighting, ventilation, and telecom engineering, including power design for the upgraded winch motor, lighting distribution for the ball, and computer-integrated control systems.
The newly enhanced ball will shine year-round, offering visitors an up-close view from a dedicated viewing deck.
