IMEG is a finalist for the Illinois Real Estate Journal Engineering Firm of the Year award and provided engineering design services for several Project Award finalists. They include: 

Government/Community Facility – Suburban 

  • Rockford Public Library (pictured): IMEG provided structural, mechanical, electrical, and technology design as well as commissioning services for the new riverfront library, which features a cantilever system, underground parking, enhanced technology, and various event and gathering spaces. The library was built on a former gasification site that had contaminated soil and needed careful integration of temporary earth retention systems and temporary dewatering and ground plugs. The project has previously won an ACEC Illinois 2025 Engineering Excellence Honor Award and Judges Choice Award, 2025 ACEC Engineering Excellence National Recognition Award, and the 2024 Citation of Merit for Architecture Design from the AIA Prairie Chapter.   • Downers Grove Civic Center: IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology design services, construction administration and commissioning for the $60 million civic center, which houses the Village Hall, Police Department, Downers Grove Grade School District 58 administrative offices, and public meetings space and room for community activities.   • Waukegan Carnegie Library: IMEG provided surveying for the adaptive reuse of the long-neglected Waukegan Carnegie Library into the Waukegan History Museum at the Carnegie. When it opens in the spring of 2025, the space will include Waukegan Historical Society exhibits, the society’s research archival library, and event and classroom space. 

Industrial – Far West 

  • Venture Park 47: IMEG provided structural engineering services for a retaining wall for this 729,823-sf Class A industrial facility in Huntley, Illinois.  

Industrial — North 

  • Nemera: IMEG provided structural engineering design for a clean room improvement at Nemera’s new facility in Vernon Hills, Illinois, which will be fully operational by mid-2025. 
  • Valent BioSciences – Biorational Research Center Expansion: IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology engineering design services and commissioning for Valent BioSciences expansion in Libertyville, Illinois. Learn more.
