IMEG Corp. has been ranked #28 on ENR magazine’s list of the 2022 Top 100 Green Design Firms. The firm’s ranking is up from #46 in 2021.

The Top 100 companies are ranked according to revenue for design services generated in 2021 from projects that have been registered with or certified by a third-party organization that sets standards for measuring a building’s or facility’s environmental impact, energy efficiency, or carbon footprint. For IMEG, that amounted to 17 percent of the firm’s revenue last year.

“Our substantial rise among the Top 100 Green Firms is the result of our intentional and long-standing focus on sustainable building design,” said IMEG Sustainability Director Adam McMillen. “As a result of this commitment, the majority of IMEG’s building design projects incorporate sustainable design—making our green design footprint much larger than the percentage of projects that are third-party certified.”

IMEG is also actively pursuing measures to reduce the operational and embodied carbon of its projects and has committed to industry-wide decarbonization initiatives including SE 2050, the AIA 2030 Commitment, and the National Academy of Medicine Action Collaborative on Decarbonizing the U.S. Health Sector. The firm also is a founding member of the Carbon Leadership Forum’s MEP 2040 Challenge.

“Decarbonization is a huge focus right now, as it is the key issue facing the future of our communities and the planet,” said McMillen. “Our staff, which includes over 150 members who are accredited in green certification systems, are passionate about playing their part during this pivotal time in which we live.”
