IMEG to provide structural design for new St. Paul public library
IMEG is providing structural engineering design and services for three St. Paul Public Library projects. A new $8.1 million Hamline-Midway Library will replace the existing 90-year-old structure.
Construction is scheduled to start in the spring of 2023 and be complete in 14 months.
The library system also plans to spend an added $8.1 million to renovate the Hayden Heights and Riverview libraries. Riverview will get an addition that creates an accessible entrance, and the current stairway will be transformed into a reading plaza. Hayden Heights will add new areas for youth activities, social services, and outdoor spaces.
IMEG is a subconsultant to LSE Architects.
The library system says the three libraries will be more accessible for all community members, environmentally responsible, and include new spaces that cater to the current needs of users.
