IMEG’s Kevin Langan and Cris Washburn have been named to the Quad Cities Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 list for 2024.  

Kevin Langan, PE 

Kevin Langan, PE, is a national authority on healthcare engineering design. Kevin, a senior mechanical engineer on the Healthcare team in the Rock Island headquarters, works on many of IMEG’s most significant healthcare projects.    

Kevin earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Iowa and joined IMEG in 2008. He is a licensed professional engineer in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, and is a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He presents seminars across the country on topics such as proton therapy facilities design, decarbonization in healthcare, and pharmacy design. He has been published in Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine and appeared on IMEG’s podcast, The Future, Built Smarter 

Kevin also helped develop curriculum and teaches at IMEG’s Consultancy 101, a weeklong seminar for the company’s new engineering hires.    

In his free time, Kevin coaches multiple youth soccer teams, teaches adult Sunday School and weekly children’s Bible study at his church, and sat on the search committee as the church searched for a new senior pastor. 

Cris Washburn 

Cris Washurn, PE, MBA, oversees U.S. and India-based mechanical engineering staff on the national healthcare team and mentors younger engineers and new staff members on the India team to help them acclimate to their careers. Cris is an associate principal and licensed professional engineer at IMEG, where he has spent his career since graduating from Iowa State University in 2008. He also earned an MBA from St. Ambrose University.  

He presents an introductory business class at Consultancy 101 and is the committee chair/transportation lead for IMEG’s Festival of Trees Festival Express train display, which covers nearly 600 feet of the Great Hall at the RiverCenter in Davenport.  

Cris was president of his local ASHRAE chapter and was a member of the local chapter’s scholarship selection board. He served as a member of the board of governors for over 10 years, leading the fundraising efforts for ASHRAE research and helping organize education opportunities and programming for chapter members. 

A Rock Island High School graduate, Cris has volunteered for Career Day and volunteers as a baseball coach for the Jr. Rocks travel team. He is a former coach for Rock Island/Milan Little League and has helped with Rock Island Park Board youth activities including flag football and basketball. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, travelling, biking, and playing guitar. 

Kevin and Cris will be honored at the Forty under 40 Awards banquet on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Quad-Cities Waterfront Convention Center.
