Iowa State University Student Innovation Center shortlisted for THE PLAN award
The Iowa State University Student Innovation Center was shortlisted for THE PLAN award 2022 in the Education category.
The international award recognizes excellence in the fields of architecture, interior design, and urban planning.
IMEG provided MEP, fire protection, acoustics, technology, energy modeling, and construction administration services (as well as a life cycle cost study) for the 140,000-sf, $60 million center. The building, which opened in 2020, was designed for multidisciplinary use and is a hub for students in the College of Engineering and College of Design, furthering the university’s mission to be a hands-on institution. It features fabrication areas for electronics, woodworking and textiles, metal working and engine test bays, as well as a test kitchen and a store selling student-made products.
