The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has awarded the Jefferson Health Honickman Center with the Award of Excellence in Healthcare Design. 

The Jefferson Health Honickman Center, a 19-story, 462,000-sf medical office building opened in March 2024 as the crown jewel of a $1 billion East Market redevelopment in the heart of Philadelphia, and an example of a transformational patient-centered design integrated into an urban environment.  

The $762 million facility combines ambulatory care services previously housed across 10 buildings and includes an infusion center, 300 exam rooms, 10 operating rooms, six endoscopy rooms, an onsite lab, a pharmacy, and radiology services. 

Jefferson Health and National Real Estate Development, LLC partnered on the project with Ennead Architects, Stantec, and structural engineer IMEG, formerly The Harman Group.  

The AIA National Healthcare Design Awards recognize sustainable, resilient, inclusive, and   innovative projects in healthcare design & planning.
