NFPA has updated its fire alarm code. Here’s what you need to know

The 2025 update to NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, includes key changes to enhance fire safety and adapt to new technologies.
In a new article for C&SE magazine, IMEG’s Richard Vedvik discusses notable updates, including revised requirements for carbon monoxide detection, expanded criteria for low-frequency sounders in sleeping areas, and clarified guidelines for remote access and testing of fire alarm systems.
