Pleasant Valley Community School District will embark on a $16.5 million expansion of two schools to accommodate growing enrollment. The district has added 750 students in the last five years.  

Forest Grove Elementary School in Bettendorf will expand to be a four-section building, adding 14,800-sf for 12 classrooms and a bathroom.  

Pleasant Valley Junior High School in LeClaire will add approximately 25,000-sf of space. The addition and renovation will include 14 new classrooms, two science rooms, an art room, and a new central office. The former central office will be renovated into a counseling office. The Family and Consumer Science room will be renovated to create a state-of-the-art learning space. The cafeteria will be expanded to accommodate about 80 more students per lunch period.  

IMEG is providing topographical surveying and civil engineering design services at Forest Grove Elementary, and geotechnical exploration and civil engineering design services at the junior high school. FRK Architects + Engineers is the architectural firm. 

Construction is expected to begin in March 2023. The expected cost is $16.5 million for the joint project. Read more
