The Grundy County Memorial Hospital expansion in Grundy Center, Iowa, opened in September 2024. The $29.4 million project added a new 24,000-sf surgical center, lab space, and improved the facilities for the radiology and imaging departments.

Hospital officials say steady growth in the number of surgeons and types of procedures mean the former facilities — built in the 1950s — could not keep up with demand. The renovation also included a room for diagnostic exams and the replacement of a portable MRI machine with a permanent one.

IMEG is providing structural engineering design services for the project.
