Three IMEG projects are finalists for the Illinois Real Estate Journal’s Commercial Real Estate Project awards.
The Lurie Children’s Schaumburg Outpatient and Infusion Center | Schaumburg, IL
Lurie Children’s Outpatient Center is a finalist in the Medical Property category. The 75,000-sf outpatient center, which opened in September 2025, offers a wide range of specialties and an ambulatory infusion center to the growing Northwest suburbs of Chicago. IMEG provided structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology engineering design services for the project.
Waubonsee Community College | Sugar Grove, IL
Waubonsee Community College’s Technical Education Center is a finalist in the Education/Daycare category.
The $59 million, 100,000-sf, building — the college’s first new building in more than 10 years — houses programs in auto body repair, automotive technology, and welding technology. IMEG provided structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology engineering design services and commissioning services for the project, which opened in September 2025.
James & Elizabeth Bramsen Tropical Forests at Brookfield Zoo Chicago, Brookfield, IL
The James & Elizabeth Bramsen Tropical Forests at Brookfield Zoo Chicago is a finalist in the Government/Community Facility and the Retail-Suburban categories. The zoo’s expanded Tropic World habitat features 2 acres of indoor and outdoor habitats for gorillas, and an outdoor area for orangutans and South American monkeys. It opened in the Summer of 2025. IMEG provided commissioning for the project.
The projects will be honored at an event June 4 at the Westin O’Hare.
