Three IMEG projects named outstanding projects of the year by CAM magazine
Three IMEG projects were recognized in the 2022 special issue of CAM Magazine as Outstanding Commercial Construction Projects of the Year. IMEG provided engineering design and services for the McLaren Greater Lansing Replacement Hospital, Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Greater Lansing, and Livonia Medical Center. CAM magazine highlighted each project’s success in navigating construction during the pandemic.
The McLaren Greater Lansing Replacement Hospital is a $601 million hospital, which consolidated two other existing McLaren hospitals into one 520,000-sf facility. The new construction includes 240 beds, 18 new operating rooms, a 34-bay emergency department, and an eight-bed observation unit. The facility also houses a high-security unit for hospitalized prisoners and pandemic-ready rooms with negative pressure and the latest technology.
The Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Greater Lansing is a $68 million facility providing treatment and urgent care services to cancer patients. IMEG provided medical equipment planning and technology engineering design and services for the project, which is located next to the new McLaren Greater Lansing Replacement Hospital for easy access between the two facilities.
The Livonia Medical Center is a $41 million, multi-medical complex offers a “smorgasbord” of patient services, including pediatrics, urgent care, surgery center, primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology, urology, orthopedics, physical therapy, and more. IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design and services for the facility.
