IMEG’s structural design of the historic preservation and new construction at 220 Park Road in Burlingame, Calif., and the Adobe Founder’s Tower pedestrian bridge in Sunnyvale, Calif., were recognized for their structural design achievements with Structural Engineers Association of Northern California’s 2025 Structural Engineering Excellence (SEE) Awards.

The new mixed-use development and historic preservation at 220 Park Road (pictured) received an SEE Excellence Award in the historic preservation category. The project included the construction of a new mixed-use tower integrated with the historic preservation of a 1940s-era post office on the site. Before construction of an underground parking garage commenced, the historic, 1,010-ton post office was temporarily lifted and relocated with hydraulic jacks for the duration of construction, then moved back into place and seamlessly connected to the new building. The pedestrian bridge connecting the new Founder’s Tower and Adobe’s existing campus headquarters received an SEE Award of Merit in the infrastructure category. The bridge extends over San Fernando Street to connect the seventh levels of the two buildings and enhance accessibility and a walkable environment. The project required innovative structural design for the first-of-its kind skybridge in the greater San Jose area. Read more here.
