Two IMEG projects win Chicago Builders Congress Merit awards
Two IMEG projects have won Chicago Builders Congress Merit awards. They are:
Waubonsee Community College | Sugar Grove, IL
The Waubonsee Community College won the Higher Education category. The $59 million, 100,000-sf, building — the college’s first new building in more than 10 years — houses programs in auto body repair, automotive technology, and welding technology. IMEG provided structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology engineering design services and commissioning services for the project, which opened in September 2025.
Downers Grove Civic Center | Downers Grove, IL
The Downers Grove Civic Center won the Commercial Construction category. The $60 million center houses the Village Hall, the Police Department, the Downers Grove Grade School District 58 administrative offices, and a public meeting space and room for community activities. IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology design services, construction administration, and commissioning for the project, which opened in July 2024.
