Two IMEG projects won ACEC Wisconsin 2025 Engineering Excellence Best of State Awards. The new Village of Oregon Public Library and The Sonnentag sport and event center were among the eight top projects in the state.

Oregon Public Library

IMEG provided structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design, and technology services for the all-electric library (pictured), which included 129 solar panels and a 42 well geothermal bore field.  The village had outgrown its downtown library. When a downtown location was deemed unsuitable for expansion, the village chose to build its new library in a rural, but rapidly growing area of the village next to a conservation park. The 31,000-sf, two-story facility embraces community, sustainability, and nature. Read IMEG’s project blog.

The Sonnentag

IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology design for the new complex, which houses an event center, fieldhouse, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Center for Health and Wellbeing, and the May Clinic Health System Diagnostic Imaging and Sports Medicine Center. The complex is a beacon of sustainability, achieving LEED Gold and WELL HSR certifications and featuring a geothermal system that includes 190 five hundred foot deep vertical wells under the parking lot serving a modular heat recovery chiller inside the building.
