An IMEG-designed project in St. Louis has won two engineering awards.

The 160,000-sf vertical expansion of the north tower of the Steven & Susan Lipstein BJC Institute of Health, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, earned a Grand Award from Missouri ACEC and a National Recognition Award from ACEC National.

The six-story, 160,000-sf vertical expansion added five new laboratory floors (including a biosafety level 3 laboratory) and one new mechanical equipment penthouse on top of an existing six-story research facility.  The project added critical mechanical and electrical utility infrastructure to the large research facility while it remained under constant operation.

IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design, energy modeling, and construction administration services for the project, which was completed in March 2025.
