The project: IMEG provided lighting design for the 3rd to 5th floor and 29th and 30th floors of the HSBC building in New York, contributing to a modern, high-performance workplace. The project involved creating a well-balanced lighting environment that enhances productivity, supports employee well-being, and aligns with HSBC’s corporate brand and sustainability goals.

The goal: The primary goal of the lighting design was to create an efficient, flexible, and aesthetically pleasing workspace that fosters collaboration and innovation. IMEG aimed to integrate cutting-edge lighting solutions that enhance visual comfort, optimize energy efficiency, and seamlessly complement the architectural design. The lighting strategy was developed to support different work modes, from focused individual tasks to dynamic team collaborations.

Project amenities: The newly designed floors include: Open-plan workstations with adjustable task lighting, private offices and conference rooms with tunable white lighting, collaborative lounges and breakout areas with dynamic lighting schemes, wellness-focused spaces featuring biophilic design elements and circadian lighting, and energy-efficient LED fixtures and automated lighting controls

Design approach: IMEG worked directly with the owner and owner’s representative to design and emphasized functionality, sustainability, and user experience. IMEG’s thoughtful lighting design helped transform HSBC’s 3rd to 5th and 29th and 30th floors into a dynamic, functional, and sustainable workspace that supports both employee comfort and corporate sustainability goals
