College Addition and Renovation
IMEG is providing LEED v.4 Fundamental Commissioning services and is coordinating with Enhanced Cx provider for the Gustavus Adolphus College (GAC) Lund Center multilevel wellness and athletic facility expansion and renovation.
The project will increase the size and scope of the wellness and athletic facilities providing a best-in-class experience for students, faculty, athletes, visitors, and members of the community.
The $60 million project includes a 160,000-sf expansion that will include new academic spaces, workout areas, offices, and an all-season field house with synthetic turf. Included in the 280,000-sf addition and renovation is a new academic wing which will house improved classrooms, faculty offices, and a 120-seat lecture hall. The Human Performance Lab, necessary for exercise science and athletic training programs, will more than double in size and upgraded locker rooms will provide improved spaces for visitors, faculty, staff, and varsity spots teams. A new office suite for athletic coaches and administrators will alleviate overcrowding in current office areas while the 60,000-sf field house will add an all-season practice, exercise, and recreation space.
During the design phase, IMEG worked closely with the design team in providing several commissioning design reviews to update the temperature control sequence of operations based on commissioning lessons learned. IMEG worked closely with the owner to identify training requirements and BAS required alarms list for incorporation into the project design.
