Hotel Expansion
IMEG’s San Francisco structural team provided engineering design and services for the Fairmont Hotel expansion in San Jose, CA. The building is thirteen stories tall with three basement levels for parking and at-grade level for lobby and retail space. The second floor is used for meeting rooms, athletic space, and back-of-house working areas. The remaining eleven floors house guest rooms. In addition to the structure, the building has an underground connection to the existing Fairmont Hotel, as well as a bridge connection at the second floor. With the addition of the new tower, the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose is now the largest hotel in the South Bay.
