The project: IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design services to air condition four dormitories
for North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections: Harnett, Columbus, Granville, and Sampson.

The goal: The state was mandated to air-condition dormitories throughout the State’s correctional campuses to provide a better working environment for guards, retention of staff, and improve offenders well-being.

Scope of work: Our team worked with the Sampson Adult Department of Corrections staff to add air conditioning to Sampson’s three-dormitories, approximately 415 beds. Scope of work included developing a solution to add refrigerant coils to the existing air-handling units, new ductwork and anti-ligature air distribution. New DDC system for efficient operation and monitoring of system has been provided.
