The project: IMEG provided structural and civil engineering services for the new multi-use indoor practice facility designed primarily for football but adaptable for other sports and events.

The goal: To provide a climate-controlled training environment that ensures year-round usability, enhances athletic performance, and accommodates multiple sports and recruiting events.

The design: The facility features a full-size football field with track running lanes, elevated platforms for photography and videography, an alumni/recruiting lounge, a kitchenette, and designated viewing areas. The project also required extensive site development, including drainage area mapping, a new storm sewer system with area inlets and large-diameter piping, water and wastewater infrastructure, driveway paving, and significant grading. Due to the site’s lower elevation relative to adjacent access roads, a comprehensive drainage system—comprising grate inlets, trench drains, and storm drain piping—was implemented to direct water flow around the building and into a natural ground swale. Additionally, a 48-inch RCP storm drain was relocated to accommodate the new structure.

The outcome: A state-of-the-art indoor practice facility that enhances athletic training, improves recruiting opportunities, and provides a flexible space for various sports and events while incorporating critical site infrastructure improvements.
