New Academic Medical Center and Complex
The project was part of the AUBMC’s Vision 2020 plan to be the leading academic medical center in Lebanon and the region by delivering excellence in patient centered care, outstanding education, and innovative research. It assures that the medical center competes with the best academic medical centers in the West.
The first phase was a new academic clinical center, the Halim and Aida Daniel Academic and Clinical Center, totaling 300,000-sf with five stories of underground parking and nine stories of above ground medical office and clinical teaching space.
The second phase is the new 2020 Medical Complex that grows the medical center from a 350-bed institution to a 600-bed medical complex. The 280-bed hospital expansion includes adult and pediatrics, as well as specialized centers of excellence in oncology, neuroscience, heart, and vascular disease. Included is the addition of 24 new OR’s.
IMEG also participated in the master planning and design of the infrastructure and central plant upgrades to support both building projects. Infrastructure improvements included upgrading the power generation plant and the domestic water storage system to solve reliability issues.
IMEG is providing MEP/FP and technology designs through Design Development phase, as well as concept structural designs and final peer review services.
