New County Courthouse
This three-story, 42,000 square foot building in Gresham, Oregon proudly serves as the new courthouse facility for East Multnomah County. It houses three courtrooms and offices for support staff. It is LEED Gold certified and meets the Architecture 2030 Challenge to be 60% more efficient than current building codes by utilizing a rooftop photovoltaic solar array system to supplement energy needs. It was designed to accommodate a two-story addition for future courtroom expansion. The exterior building envelope consists of brick veneer and anchored stone panels supported by the steel structure, highlighted by extensive glass curtain walls. Our team utilized a BIM model for design document creation and provided the model to the contractor for coordination purposes during construction. This project is the recipient of the 2013 Hammurabi Award – Masonry and Ceramic Tile Institute of Oregon, Award of Merit for Design and Use of Masonry.
