New Dental Surgery Center
The Gallatin Valley Surgical Arts center, also known as the Chisdak Dental Surgery Center, was designed to blur the line between the very technical aspects of a medical facility with the softness and comfort of a residential project. This was accomplished through the strategic use of materials, open spaces, large windows, balconies, and exposed structural elements.
IMEG provided structural engineering and design services for the facility, which consists of surgical rooms, patient rooms, waiting areas, and offices. The structure consists primarily of conventional wood framing. Unique features include custom designed wood and steel trusses, large, open to below areas, and cantilever entry roofs.
This project received the 2008 ACEC Montana Engineering Excellence Award for Structural Systems and the 2006 AIA Montana Excellence in Design Honor Award.
