The project: IMEG provided structural engineering services for the new two-story, state-of-the-art elementary school serving students in grades pre-K through 5th.

The goal: To create the first new school designed to meet the district’s new standards for elementary schools.

The design: The school was designed to pay homage to the native prairie lands of Edwards Ranch such as rust colored metal panels, brick, and masonry with colors and patterns representing the dark rich soils, gabion walls with natural stone, and native planting.
In addition, the gymnasium features an ICC 500 storm shelter consisting of precast concrete construction.

The outcome: Meeting the evolving needs of the community, the new Overton Park Elementary School creates a safe, sustainable school that serves over 700 students yearly.
