New Intensive Care Unit Tower
IMEG provided structural engineering services for the four-story, 60,000-sf intensive care unit tower at the Inova Loudoun Hospital Center in Leesburg, VA. The hospital provides comprehensive healthcare services and high quality care to the Dulles South region of Loudoun County.
The facility, which is comprised of one-story and two-story areas, houses laboratories, materials management, plant operations, lobbies, public areas, and a loading dock. A corridor connects the ICU tower to the west wing of the existing Inova Loudoun Hospital Center. To meet the needs of the growing community, the elevator core of the building was designed for a future three-story vertical expansion. A steel framing system is utilized for the structure and the facade is a metal skin system with aluminum curtain wall, brick veneer, and architectural CMU.
