The largest construction project in campus history, the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building provides labs and classrooms for graduate and undergraduate students in multiple disciplines including agriculture, life sciences, veterinary medicine, chemistry, and engineering.

IMEG provided structural engineering and design services for the facility, which houses a large microscopy and imaging center with state-of-the-art electron microscopes. Core facilities in proteomics, genomics, and structural biology will serve the entire campus. The program also includes a vivarium, wet teaching labs, a 300-seat auditorium, and a coffee shop.

The project is LEED Gold certified, which required rethinking prior campus standards for fume hood performance/design, central plant design, process water reclamation, and the use of daylighting. The facility is a part of a $300 million+ science construction initiative at A&M.
