New Showroom and Service Center
IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, and technology design, as well as architectural lighting services for a new auto dealership and service center for Fox Ford Motors in Chicago.
The project included a showroom building, office and support areas, a jewel box vehicle display floor, and a service facility with infrastructure designed for future expansion into an additional 55,000-sf area.
IMEG provided architectural lighting design for the showroom and jewel box display floor, in addition to exterior site and building-mounted lighting. The design includes multiple three-high custom car stackers to showcase vehicles with hidden vertical track runs at each front corner to illuminate the stackers. A network control system provides a dynamic light show that can be seen from the nearby highway, attracting new customers.
LED replacement lamps were installed to reduce the budget and provide easy maintenance. The sustainable design also includes interior and exterior LPDs that are 15 percent and 46 percent below ASHRAE 90.1- 2010, respectively. IMEG reviewed various lamp sources for the design and decided 0-10V dimming CMH provided the best energy savings, light levels with a reduced first cost, and high color quality.
The project is Fox Ford Motors’ first outlet outside of Michigan, and is LEED certified.
