The project: IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services for the new three-story Raleigh Orthopedic Surgery Center.

Mechanical scope: This expansive facility boasted three new central station air handling units, featuring an 85-ton air-cooled chiller for chilled water supply and a new 2,000 MBH boiler for hot water supply. The air handling units efficiently distributed air throughout the building to VAV terminals and parallel fan boxes equipped with hot water coils.

Plumbing scope: The facility was outfitted with a state-of-the-art plumbing system, incorporating new fixtures, a waste water system, and four recirculating hot water heaters to ensure seamless hot water delivery throughout the building.

Electrical scope: IMEG’s electrical system design catered to the power needs of various mechanical equipment, medical devices, and lighting systems, ensuring reliable operation throughout the facility.

Automation system: To enhance building functionality, a new building automation system was implemented, allowing for optimal control and management of various building systems.

The outcome: Through collaboration and expertise, IMEG contributed to the creation of a cutting-edge surgical center, equipped to provide exceptional care and comfort to patients and staff.
