IMEG provided schematic rendering and planning services for a new park, pedestrian bridge replacement, and connecting bike path to Sylvan Island. The city received an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) grant to remove the existing truss bridge and replace it with a new structure, reusing the existing substructure units.

Engineers provided a field topographic survey, research, environmental documentation, project development, and bridge condition reports, as well as type, size, and location bridge plans. IMEG provided the final design and bid documents to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for bid letting, and the existing bridge will be razed. IMEG also drafted a removal plan for the existing bridge and will provide construction administration and inspection services for the city.
