IMEG was retained by PDG Architects to provide security design and engineering services and construction administration services for the renovation of the U.S. Custom House located in New Orleans, LA and the buildout of space for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Services included designing and engineering integrated security systems that met CBP, ICE, GSA, and Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12). Access control, and alarm systems were designed to monitor the varying departments within the building and security video was implemented to provide general surveillance that was digitally recorded.

The U.S. Custom House is a 4-story, 325,000-sf National Historic Landmark. This project consisted of the completion of shell preparation and the implementation of federal tenant improvements as part of Phase II of Hurricane Katrina Repairs to the U.S. Custom House.
