ARKANSAS

Hot Springs National Park, Hot Springs, AR. Historic bathhouses and centuries-old thermal springs are surrounded by mountain views, awe-inspiring geology, forested hikes, and rippling creeks, all in the middle of Hot Springs. As part of an IDIQ contract, IMEG helped preserve the historic Maurice Bathhouse and Libbey Memorial Physical Medicine Center and provided roof updates for two more. Services: MEP, FP

CALIFORNIA

Broadway Trade Center, 801 S. Broadway, Los Angeles. Opened in 1908 and first known as Hamburger’s Department Store, the 1.1 million-sf,10-story building was once the largest department store west of Chicago. Practically a self-contained town, it included a post office, public library, doctor’s office and operating room, rooftop garden and greenhouses, a 1,000-seat auditorium, and the first escalator in California. IMEG is working on phase two of a mixed-use redevelopment of the building. Services: Structural, MEP, Civil

Picture Bridge, Pasadena. The historic Picture Bridge at the Langham Huntington Hotel was constructed in 1914 to connect the hotel’s main building to other amenities. In 1932, local painter and landscape artist Frank Moore was hired to paint 41 scenes on the bridge’s gables of California landscapes and iconic features. In 2020, the 2,500-sf bridge underwent a multi-million-dollar restoration and structural rehabilitation to meet current seismic codes and mount new replicas of the painted scenes—with a goal of saving as much of the original bridge as possible. COLORADO

Denver Water Operations Complex Redevelopment. This 36-acre redevelopment, winner of the 2021 ACEC Excellence in Engineering Grand Conceptor Award, focused on water conservation, reclamation, and efficiency. The project achieved LEED Platinum and Net-Zero Energy, and its “One Water” management plan—addressing all parts of the urban water cycle (rain/ stormwater, surface water, groundwater, recycled water, drinking water, and wastewater)—serves as a case study to push and redefine water stewardship across the arid West. The Wheeler Opera House, Aspen. Built in 1889 at the peak of Aspen’s silver boom, the opera house has survived its own booms and busts. The collapse of the precious metals market, fire, and tax sales were intermingled with periods of renovation and rebirth. IMEG assisted with the latest restoration project, which was honored by Colorado Preservation Inc.  Services: Electrical

CONNECTICUT

Elizabeth Park, Hartford. Since 1897, the Olmstead & Son-designed park has been a treasured public space known for its historic landscapes and iconic rose garden. IMEG has contributed to its legacy for decades—restoring historic features, pedestrian entrances, lighting, trails, and visitor amenities. Services: Landscape Architecture

DELAWARE

Delaware Bayshore Byway. With numerous historically significant locations, the goal of the project is to promote visitation to the Byway and to make connections between historic sites and opportunities for biking, walking, and paddling. IMEG is developing a comprehensive marketing plan to promote all the historic sites and recreational opportunities. Services: Urban Planning & Design

FLORIDA

Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island. IMEG provided engineering design for the modification of the Mobile Launcher Platform-3, NASA’s main launch pad and the departure site of the Apollo 8 and Apollo 11 lunar missions, the latter making Neil Armstrong the first human to walk on the moon. ILLINOIS

I-74 Bridge Replacement and Corridor Improvements, Illinois and Iowa. This bi-state project spans the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities between Moline, IL, and Bettendorf, IA, and included a new bridge plus nearly eight miles of corridor improvements. The new, 3,400-foot bridge features dual basket-handle arch bridges with main channel spans of 800 feet. The bridge supports six lanes in each direction, including an outboard bicycle and pedestrian path. IMEG’s largest civil engineering project, it was named Roads & Bridges Magazine’s #1 Bridge of 2022. Services: Civil, Bridge Building, Materials Testing

Lincoln Park Zoo Lion House, Chicago. Long the heart of Lincoln Park Zoo, the Lion House was expanded and renamed the Pepper Family Wildlife Center, while remaining one of Chicago’s architectural gems. Services: Commissioning

INDIANA

Olympic Trial Pool, Indianapolis. Lucas Oil Stadium was transformed in three weeks to house Olympic-size pools for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Trials, during which nearly 1,000 athletes competed to represent Team USA at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Following the removal of the NFL football field’s turf and goalposts, the elevated competition and warm-up pools were constructed on the playing surface. IMEG determined the infrastructure for filling, heating, and draining of the temporary pools. Bottleworks District, Indianapolis. Decorated in the distinctive Art Deco style, the Bottleworks District is a creative reimagining of what was once the largest Coca-Cola bottling plant in the world into a lively cultural hub filled with restaurants, movie theaters, and a 140-room hotel. The $300 million, 1,500,000-sf award-winning entertainment complex was included in Time magazine’s “World’s Greatest Places to Live 2021.” Services: MEP, FP, Technology, Security, Acoustics, Architectural Lighting

MASSACHUSETTS

Walker Pond Forest Park Rehabilitation, Watertown. This pond was created in 1846 as part of “The Farm” at the Gore Estate and was surrounded by pastoral fields replicating the gentleman’s farms of the British aristocracy. Over the years, the space around the pond shifted gradually to industrial use, effectively hiding the pond. In 2022, the City of Watertown acquired the southern half of the pond and an adjacent lot to restore natural habitat and create a new public open space for the community. MICHIGAN

Detroit Book Depository. The renovated Book Depository in Detroit—designed by Albert Kahn in the 1930s—is one of the first buildings to open in Ford Motor Company’s multi-year adaptive reuse of the iconic Michigan Central Station and surrounding landmark buildings. The 275,000-sf historic renovation converted the abandoned warehouse building into an adaptable and flexible office building for technology start-ups, part of a new mobility and innovation district to meet the demands of today’s top innovators. MONTANA

Crowley Block Building, Lewistown. The legendary Rattlesnake Jake (Owens) shootout occurred on the Crowley block on July 4, 1884—29 years prior to the construction of the Crowley Block Building. Long vacant, an adaptive reuse project in 2023 turned the building into a mixed-use space with a community health center on the ground and mezzanine floors and apartments on the upper two floors. The project won a 2025 Historic Preservation Stewardship Award from the Montana Historical Society and Montana Governor’s Office. NEW MEXICO

Chaco Culture National Historic Park. This World Heritage Site is home to a large concentration of pueblo ruins that pre-date Columbian contact. It is considered a sacred place for many Indigenous peoples in the Southwest. After housing for 12 park staff was determined to be in rock fall zones, IMEG helped relocate and build new housing within the park. Services: MEP, Civil, Survey

NEW YORK

Bethpage Black Golf Course, Long Island. The world-renowned Black Golf Course—one of five golf courses at century-old Bethpage State Park—has hosted U.S. Open Championships, The Barclays PGA Tour events, and other PGA events. In preparation for the 2025 Ryder Cup, various components of the course infrastructure were repaired or replaced under the supervision of New York State’s Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. Fire Department of New York Engine Company 224, Brooklyn. This three-story fire station had retained its original interior features for much of its existence. IMEG led the design for the complete rehabilitation and modernization of the station, ensuring that the landmarked exterior remained undisturbed while keeping the adjacent residences free from disruptions. Times Square Ball, New York City. The New Year’s Eve Ball Drop Celebration at Times Square began in 1907 and is one of the most recognized annual events in the world. The ball has undergone nine iterations, with the latest, the Constellation Ball, ushering in 2026 at midnight Jan. 1. It is the largest ball yet and features state-of-the-art lighting, motion, and control system, as well as a new signature sound and interactive capabilities. It has twice the number of lights of the previous ball, three sizes of Waterford crystal panels, and a more powerful motor to guide its famous descent.  Services: Mechanical, Technology

Lake Placid Olympic Center & James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Oval. The Olympic Regional Development Authority recently refreshed the home of the 1980 Olympics, adding the Olympic Center Link—a building with a museum, retail, and dining that connects two existing arenas—and updating lighting at the outdoor oval. NORTH CAROLINA

Chronicle Mill, Belmont. The long-abandoned textile mill, Belmont’s first, was redeveloped into a mixed-use property with 238 apartments, food, beverage, and retail. Services: Mechanical, FP

PENNSYLVANIA

Independence Park Hotel, Philadelphia. The first historic boutique hotel in Philadelphia’s Old City, this 1856 building was built for a doll manufacturer. IMEG designed lighting that accentuates the historic architecture at night with color-changing lighting technology that can be used to celebrate city and national holidays and events. SOUTH CAROLINA

Credit One Stadium, Charleston. Located at the heart of the Family Circle Tennis Center in Daniel Island, the tennis complex underwent a comprehensive $50 million renovation and expansion in 2022. The primary enhancement increased stadium seating from 7,000 to 11,000, greatly boosting spectator capacity. Key upgrades included the addition of a 70,000-square-foot, four-story Stage House, providing state-of-the-art facilities for both events and performers. Services: Architectural Lighting

TEXAS

Hipolito F. Garcia Federal Building, San Antonio. The six-story, Beaux style federal building near the Alamo is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A renovation made it the General Services Administration’s first LEED Platinum building. Services: MEP, Building Certification, Commissioning

Caddo Mounds State Historic Site, Fort Worth. This historic site was a major civic-ceremonial center and sacred site for the Caddo. One of North America’s most sophisticated pre-Columbian communities, the Caddo were known for constructing ceremonial and platform mounds that required deep knowledge of soil mechanics and geometry, and aerodynamic dome-shaped grass houses designed to withstand intense winds. After a devastating tornado in 2019, IMEG helped construct a new visitor center and traditional grass house on the site. Services: Structural
