Growth, rankings, awards lead IMEG’s top 10 of ‘25
2025 proved to be another successful year for IMEG as the firm continued to expand, add new services, rise in industry rankings, and win numerous project awards. Watch our video or read on for the list of our top 10 accomplishments.
- IMEG expanded in many regions throughout the year, growing the firm to more than 100 offices and over 3,000 team members nationwide, expanding service capabilities, and strengthening expertise in various market sectors. Companies joining us were:

- IMEG’s IDEA Program won Gold in the 2025 AEC Innovators competition. The program is an internal accelerator that empowers employees across disciplines to develop and scale ideas that advance technology, sustainability, and operational excellence.
- Thirty college scholarships were awarded to students across the U.S. in the third year of IMEG’s engineering scholarship program.
- IMEG broke into the Top 50 on Engineering News-Record’s 2025 Top 500 Design Firms list, coming in at #48, up from #52 in 2024. The firm also moved into the Top 20 of ENR’s Top 100 Green Design Firms, ranking #17, up from #20 in 2024. The firm also ranked #4 on Building Design + Construction’s 2025 Giant’s 400 Report and #11 among Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s MEP Giants 2025.

- The Smithsonian Channel interviewed IMEG engineers for the “How Did They Build That?” episode on the Nancy and Rich Kinder Building at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston.
- One of the nation’s first community-scale geothermal systems, featuring design by IMEG, advanced toward implementation with a $10.8 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
- IMEG saved clients more than53,000 metric tons of carbon emissions through energy modeling and energy management services (equivalent to taking 12,000 cars off the road or 53,000 acres of forest sequestration). The firm also introduced a multidisciplinary Whole Carbon Action Plan for project design.
- A bigger, brighter, IMEG-designed New Year’s Eve ball (pictured at top) debuted at Times Square in New York as 2025 ended and 2026 began. Happy New Year to all our valued clients and partners!
